So you’re in Barcelona for the winter and your flat or house has a fireplace, but you’ve no idea where to buy firewood. Or maybe you got hooked on meat smoking from our sister site Barbehow and you need a few logs for your next cook.
Finding firewood in Barcelona can be tricky, especially if you don’t know where to look. To help you in your search, we rounded up the sellers where you’re most likely to find what you need. Just be sure to give them a call or send them a WhatsApp to check for availabililty before you get dressed up and go; firewood is a product of scarce supply and high demand around here.
Leroy Merlin
Leroy Merlin is a French chain of home improvement stores with several locations in and around Barcelona.
If you are from the United States, this is the equivalent of Home Depot here; if you’re from Great Britain, then Leroy Merlin stores are very much like B&Q back at home. These stores sell tools, construction products, furniture, appliances, and—no prize for guessing—firewood.
In case you don’t have a car, you can get a carshare from Ubeego or find an affordable rental on Kayak. Don’t have a driving license or want a whole pallet of firewood? Head to a Leroy Merlin store and ask them to ship the wood to your home, or just buy it online from the website.

Jardineria Monés
Jardineria Monés is a garden center with a decent selection of oakwood and a trustworthy delivery service. It’s in the city of Badalona, so it’s close to Barcelona but you will need transport. That is, don’t expect to be able to get there by foot.
The oak wood is well seasoned and cut into logs for you. You can buy or order it in 50-kg (110-lbs) and 100-kg (220-lbs) bags. (In both cases, the logs are 35 to 40 cm / 14 to 16 inches long.)

The firewood is dry and properly seasoned. You can pick up the firewood in the store yourself, or you can have it delivered to your home at a time that suits you. Depending on how much firewood you need, their delivery minimum of 1,000 kg (2,205 lbs) may or may not work for you.

How to Shop for Firewood in Catalan and Spanish
Most websites claim that almost everyone in Barcelona speaks English, but that’s simply not true. To buy firewood in and around the city, you should know at least a little Catalan or Spanish, especially if you order by phone.
In Catalan, “firewood” is llenya and firewood delivery is llenya a domicili. In Spanish, “firewood” is leña and firewood delivery is llenya a leña a domicilio. If you prefer to find a seller yourself, simply search for llenya a domicili Barcelona or leña a domicilio Barcelona on Google and the ones closest to you will pop up.
